Issue

​"CaseBasedRetention” managed property is configured with "has multiple" property in Search Service by SharePoint

Root Cause

​The “has multiple” flag of this property is set and that causes an error to occur on the search page

Resolution

​In order to resolve this issue the following needs to be done in the SharePoint farm: 

1.       Go to the Central Administration Application Management Manage Service Applications Search Service Application Metadata Properties

2.       Open CaseBasedRetention managed property

3.       Unselect “Has Multiple Values” from CaseBasedRetention managed property.

4.       Reset index

5.       Run Full Crawl​
